Temple and Covenants

This YouTube playlist contains information and perspectives on temples and covenants, including the Second Anointing.

Patriarchy in the Temple

For a classic examination of patriarchy in temple ordinances, see “The Mormon Priestess: A Theology of Womanhood in the LDS Temple,” by Elizabeth Hammond, originally published on the Feminist Mormon Housewives blog and reprinted in Mormon Feminism: Essential Writings, edited by Joanna Brooks, Rachel Hunt Steenblik, and Hannah Wheelwright.

I also recommend a follow-up essay, “The Legacy of Adam-God in the Mormon Theology of Heteropatriarchy,” posted on Tokens and Signs.

If you’re opposed to any discussion of temple ordinances in public, then you will not like these essays. If you’re okay with some discussion, then you may want to read these essays. They are a heavy read if you don’t believe that women should be subordinate to men, but it’s hard to argue that they don’t give a reasonable interpretation of the endowment as it was before the recent changes.
